The Modbap CLRS is a versatile, compact, stereo audio color effects processor geared towards Eurorack systems. As a 10HP module, it boasts a DJ-Style Filter with dual functionality, allowing users to adjust both high-pass and low-pass filters with a single central knob. This module features a transformative drive effect that offers a spectrum of saturation scaling from subtle to aggressive. Complimenting these capabilities is a stereo width control for precise spatial adjustments.
Adding to the breadth of sound manipulation, a Lo-fi effect is integrated, which can emulate older, lower-quality audio characteristics through sample rate reduction. This is enhanced by a Bit Depth knob that contributes a bit-crushed distortion effect.
A unique ‘Mag’ effect reproduces the warmth, saturation, and mild distortion typified by analogue tape recordings. Subtle or aggressive tape distortion can be dialed in for added sonic texture.
The CLRS module also includes a one-knob compressor with a new 3-way switch for ratio control, allowing for light, medium, and heavy compression settings. To achieve side-chain compression effects, a ‘Duck’ input has been added.
The inclusion of CV inputs for dynamic modulation of the filter, drive, mag, and lo-fi effects furnishes extra layers of expression and creativity.
