Eurorack News for April 26th 2024

The Takaab-4NOT by Siam Modular is a specialised Eurorack module operating as a quad NOT gate and logic inverter. It excels at inverting clock or gate signals, with its functionality determined by the level of the input voltage. Each output of the module is normalised to the next input, enabling advanced signal processing through intermodule cascading.

As a result, Takaab-4NOT can produce alternating voltage outputs of 0V and +5V, depending on the initial input voltage, making it a proficient tool in creating buffered logic multiples. Furthermore, this module expands its functionality as a comparator, converting analogue voltages into digital signals, and hence acting as an effective tool for signal shaping and transforming waveforms into pulse waves.

It’s crucial to understand, however, that Takaab-4NOT isn’t a voltage inverter; it doesn’t create a negative version of a CV or audio signal. For that functionality, Takaab 4VIV by the same manufacturer would be an ideal integration.

The VCV Random CV Generator by NANO Modules is a Eurorack module, designed to inject regulated chaos into a synthesizer rig via unique voltage patterns. This module has four types of randomness and an additional triggerable sample-and-hold function.

Key operating features include a RATE control to adjust the internal clock’s tempo, PROB control to set the probability of generating a new random value each clock cycle, RND function to blend the previous value with a new random value and a SHAPE control to manage the transition to the new random value across all four outputs. This versatility allows users to manage the extent of randomness in their sound signals.
